Taking product management to the next level

With the latest update our developers took on the Products module, and we have taken product management to a new level.

Price management

Managing prices has never mattered more than it does now. High inflation affects all of us, and unfortunately that means the prices of most services and products will have to change too. The new Price management screen makes it easier to put new prices through, or to link products to a different price margin.

Because every field can be edited right where you check it, the new overview saves a great deal of time when reviewing and adjusting purchase prices, price margins, VAT rates or selling prices.

Price margins

We just mentioned price margins. With price margins you decide how your prices are built up, using clear margin rules. You can give prices per tier a multiplication factor, a fixed mark-up or a combination of both. So you can decide, for example, that administering a particular medicine has a minimum selling price of 5 euros, and that above that the price goes up by 20% plus a fixed mark-up of 2 euros.

You can then apply the price margin to your whole range, to a product group or only to selected products. Vetocare automatically works the margin rules into the selling price, based on the current purchase price.

Product units

Some products are not sold in the same unit they are bought in. Often a product is entered in its selling unit, such as millilitres, capsules or pipettes. But keeping both stock and prices right then takes a lot of arithmetic — especially when a bottle holds 120 millilitres and you buy 12 bottles to a box, or when a jar holds 30 capsules and a pack holds 6 jars.

That is why you can now store the packaging unit and the purchase unit alongside the selling unit. Vetocare then keeps track of the right units when it prepares orders. It also works the purchase price back to the cost per selling unit and applies the right margin rules to it.
